Godrej Sustainability Report

EMISSIONS G&B is cognisant of the adverse effects on the atmosphere resulting from increased usage of fossil fuels. With a belief that good air quality is crucial for ensuring environmental and human health and also to decrease impact of global warming, the Company constantly monitors its emissions to access its footprint and devise mitigation measures. Air quality monitoring devices are installed across all locations and stack emissions are analysed, reported and Absolute GHG Emissions (in tCO2e) 11,092 76,118 87,210 12,589 77,049 89,638 12,441 84,983 97,424 FY 2016-17 FY 2017-18 FY 2018-19 Direct emissions (Scope 1) Indirect emissions (Scope 2) Total GHG emissions Nitrogen oxides (NOX), sulphur oxides (SOX), and other significant air emissions 53.4 35.9 7.6 61.0 51.9 9.8 74.6 57.7 13.2 FY 2016-17 FY 2017-18 FY 2018-19 SPM (TONS ) NOX ( TONS ) ISOX ( TONS ) GHG emissions intensity 87,210 41 DA 89,638 37 DA 97,424 37 DA FY 2016-17 FY 2017-18 FY 2018-19 Total GHG emissions (tCO2e) GHG emissions intensity (tCO2e/MVA) Intensity reduction against base year 2010-11 (%) Emissions of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) (in Kgs.) 793 549 508 FY 2016-17 FY 2017-18 FY 2018-19 R134a 43 monitored regularly. The Company ensures that all air pollution parameters are maintained much below the government limits indicating efficient management of industrial operations and stringent air pollution control processes. In addition to regulatory norms, G&B sets stringent limits for parameters such as SOx, NOx, TPM, SPM, etc.
