Medical Grants

The Pirojsha Godrej Foundation has been extending medical grants to individuals, hospitals, childcare centres, and other healthcare facilities. The trust also supports healthcare for animals.

Some of the key areas of medical concerns that the Pirojsha Godrej Foundation has focused on, by contributing towards research and treatment, are:

  • Cancer: The Foundation supports cancer treatments for the economically marginalized, and also provides shelter and complete care facilities for families who seek cancer treatment in cities.
  • Leprosy : The Foundation supports medical research for leprosy with a focus on the study of nerve damage due to leprosy
  • Dyslexia: The Foundation supports capacity building of teachers and setting up of training camps for teachers and parents to enable a safe environment for children with dyslexia
  • Impaired vision: The Foundation supports healthcare institutes that manage care of patients who have visual impairment.

Some of the key beneficiaries of the Pirojsha Godrej are Foundation for Medical Research, CII Foundation- Kerala floods, Chief Ministers Relief Fund, India Cancer Society, NK Dabhar Cancer Foundation, Indian Red Cross Society Blood Center, Latur Earthquake Relief Fund, the Andhra Cyclone Relief Fund, St. Jude’s Childcare Centers, and Lepers Welfare Association and Bombay Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

"We are thankful to our long-term partners such as the Pirojsha Godrej Foundation who have been supporting us since 2008, and ensuring that we are able to create a safe and hygienic haven for families who arrive in cities to seek cancer treatment for their children. For these families, most of whom come from socio-economically marginalized backgrounds, accessing healthcare facilities and treatment, along with adapting to a new reality is a traumatic experience. Since the treatment can go on for anywhere between 6 months to 2 years, we don’t just provide shelter, but a ‘home away from home', where we take care of necessities like food and nutrition, value-based education, skill development sessions, and maintain hygiene at our centres to eliminate the risk of infections. Our counselling support ensures the emotional and mental well-being of the entire family. A big thank you to Pirojsha Godrej Foundation for their strong support that helps us fulfil our pledge that if ‘Cancer Doesn’t Stop, Neither Will We.’” - Anil Nair, CEO, St. Jude India
