Managing waste in Mumbai colleges

While we are taking measures to reduce, reuse and recycle waste in our manufacturing plants, waste management is related to various dimensions of our community and needs greater involvement.

In 2016, in line with the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat mission we started implementing an urban community waste management project in 25 colleges in Mumbai. We are building compositing pits in these colleges to help recycle organic waste into compost and we are recycling the dry waste. With the college adminsitration, we are also raising awareness among college students in managing waste and involing them in the process.

This initiative will help us divert close to 400 tonnes of waste per annum from landfill.
